GREENSBORO — The popular Concord-based Avett Brothers will play at Greensboro's White Oak Amphitheatre on Oct. 8, Greensboro Coliseum Complex officials announced this morning.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Ticket prices will range from $37.50 to $45. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Gate City Rotary Club.
The band includes brothers Scott and Seth Avett, plus bassist Bob Crawford. The band, which just wrapped up a weekend concert in Charlotte, last played Greensboro on Halloween 2008 at War Memorial Auditorium.
Tickets will be available at Ticketmaster.com, charge-by-phone at (800) 745-3000 and the Greensboro Coliseum box office.
Contrary to what everyone
Contrary to what everyone believes, those service fees, are more for the band rather than ticketmaster.

I am very excited, and very eager to participate in another Avett show here in my hometown. One of the few acts that I would drive any substantial distance to witness...but they're coming to our back door. Just hope I can get a ticket. There are often tips on their website, their email list, and their FaceBook feed on how to get tickets.
The only fly in the ointment is having to deal with TicketDisaster. I still can not believe that artists with any integrity allow their tickets to be sold through this monopolistic strangle-hold. I still can't believe that the government continues to allow this monopoly to operate.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the Greensboro Coliseum that is in league with TicketMaster, not The Avett Brothers. I sure hope I can get tickets to this show.
