NC film 'Eyeborgs' to air on Syfy

Sci-fi thriller “Eyeborgs” is scheduled to air 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 on the Syfy Channel.

The North Carolina-made film was written and directed by Richard Clabaugh, a former School of Filmmaking faculty member at UNCSA. “Eyeborgs” was shot by UNCSA students and faculty in the Winston-Salem/Piedmont Triad in 2007 and was featured in the RiverRun International Film Festival in Winston-Salem in 2009.

In “Eyeborgs,” a terrorist attack causes the United States to pass a law requiring all communications and surveillance cameras to be monitored. The government also approves the creation of Eyeborgs – mobile surveillance robots that can track suspicious persons and take whatever action is necessary when they witness a crime in progress.

The sci-fi action film stars Adrian Paul of TV’s “Highlander,” Danny Trejo, Megan Blake, Luke Eberl, John S. Rushton and Dale Anthony Girard, a UNCSA School of Drama artist-faculty member who teaches stage combat.

Ten UNCSA School of Drama alumni (Shanna Beauchamp 2006, Joshua Brocki 2010, Adam Guerra 2007, Brandon Harris 2010, Crystal Arnette 2009, Marcyanna Johnson 2007, William Magnussen 2007, Maggie Marlin 2003, Ryan Roets 2010, and Alan Tyson 2009), along with UNCSA School of Filmmaking alumnus Andy Robinson 2006, joined the North Carolina Stuntman’s Association stunt team for the film.
